Samsung disables update on windows phone 7

Microsoft has revealed that the Windows Phone 7 update has been held back for Samsung mobiles, after users reported that the devices were bricked when trying to install the software update.
In an email to WinRumors, a Microsoft spokesperson said that the company had identified an issue within the update and has disabled the update for Samsung phones.

“In response to this emerging issue, we have temporarily taken down the latest software update for Samsung phones in order to correct the issue and as soon as possible will redistribute the update,” the spokesperson said.
Several Samsung users reported that the minor Windows Phone update released by Microsoft was giving problems while installing while some complained that the update had bricked their phones.
“Basically, after plugging in my phone to receive the update, the process gets as far as stage 6 of 10 where the phone goes through the reboot process but the phone hangs on the ‘connect your phone to your PC,” one user explained.
Writing on Microsoft's Answers website, one user stated, "My phone is currently unusable, even after hard reset," with another person claiming, "I've got an unmodified Samsung Omnia 7, now bricked."
Some users are not certain whether they should take up the issue with their service provider or with Microsoft.

Nokia makes Fun of iphone

You might be aware the the latest iPhone 4 have been having a lot of issues with network being lost if held in the hand and the problem is apparently resolved by using the phone in a case. This has been probably Apple’s biggest embarrassment as it has been know to put out products which are vigorously tested.
Apple has made a great deal of advertisements mocking Windows for its buggy software and the fact that it does not get the simple things right. They have recently thanks to the iPhone, invaded into the territory of Nokia.
So what does Nokia do after Apple iPhone 4 woes? It decides to mock Apple with its own instructions on how you can hold a Nokia handset without losing connectivity
Nokia further mocks iPhone by saying that the key function of its mobile phones is to be able to receive and make calls. icon razz Nokia makes fun of Apples iPhone 4s network loss
Most times when there is a public relations disaster the competitor will always take advantage of it. We all know about Apple’s fantastic advertising ability especially when they dished it out to Microsoft and lately its response to Adobe’s “we love choice” campaign.
What goes round comes around and I guess it is Apples time to take a few knocks from Nokia.
What are you views on Nokia making fun of iPhone network issues? Do let me know through your comments.

Samsung windows 7 phone specifications

We’ve already heard about the three chassis that are required for handsets that run Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Phone 7 Series, but the software giant has revealed a few more details.
As we already know, the handsets will have to sport a capacitive touchscreen with at least four points of contacts and a minimum resolution of 480 by 320 (the launch devices will have to be 800 by 480). The devices will also need to have an accelerometer, compass, assisted-GPS, and light and proximity sensors. The CPU needs to be an ARMv7 Cortex/Scorpion or better, and the GPU needs to be DirectX 9. Manufacturers will have to include at least 256 MB of RAM, 8 GB  of flash memory, and there needs to be at least a 5-megapixel camera with a hard button to snap photos. It’s good to see Microsoft take a stand with its hardware partners, and these seem like a good baseline for devices going forward.
Microsoft appears to have learned its lesson with Windows Mobile – as it was widely distributed with few limitations and manufacturers released a variety of flavors. There’s something to be said about this approach because it enables handset makers to differentiate its products and it has brought us things like HTC’s Sense UI. But it can also lead to fragmentation and an inconsistent user experience – Android is already starting to feel some of this pain. Apple and Research In Motion have been very successful in this space because the companies have tight integration over the hardware and software, and Microsoft is trying to create a more cohesive experience with WP7S. Will it work? We’ve just started to see some interesting stuff to look forward to, so I’m pretty optimistic about Microsoft’s chances.

Pro Evo 2011 Coming To Windows Phone 7

Game publisher Konami is to release a version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 for Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 mobile operating system.
The game will be specially designed for the smartphone platform, complete with mobile-based controls and Xbox Live integration. Players will also be able to take part in cup tournaments like the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
The game will come with advanced team and player controls that take advantage of the on-screen controls, which will be powered by "True Flow" technology, as well as those on the keyboard of the smartphone.
Florian Stronk, the head of network business development, said in a statement: “PES 2011 arrives on a new format, bringing its intense realism and stunning gameplay to a whole new audience. PES gamers can now hone their skills while away from their system, while the true ethos of PES – skill, timing and beautiful football – can be enjoyed at any time, everywhere.”
The game is set to be ready for release in 'early' 2011.

Google Nexus S goes to outer space and works

If you needed another reason to buy the Google Nexus S apart from all the specs the phone boasts, this would be it.

Google tested the boundaries of their Nexus S phones and sent them where no phones have gone before - outer space.
Little Android astronauts were sent into outer space with seven Nexus S phones. The phones' sensors were being tested, and applications including Google Maps and Google Sky Map were being used.

After the experiment, it was found that the Nexus S was able to function till temperatures of minus 50 degrees Celsius and the GPS kept track of the phone till 60,000 feet.

The Google Blog hosts videos of the Nexus S' trip to outer space passing 100,000 feet, and we see a tiny green Android astronaut getting knocked off the platform to plummet to Earth.

The Google Nexus S already has been gifted Android 2.3.1 in the US and we're hoping to see a UK version soon.
