The latest trend of new launches by most major mobile manufacturers might just be continued by Sony Ericsson too. After ‘Xperia X10′ and the ‘Kurara’, this is another model name leak, and if we go by the name this model sure sounds sleek and sophisticated.
Rumors started running amok when, U5i appeared in one of the FCC documents which were mysteriously leaked by unknown sources. According to these rumors the handset has been cleared to be sold in the U.S. Markets although the exact date of launch is unknown. However the return to the suffix “i” of the original naming scheme of Sony Ericsson is creating a lot of enthusiasm in the media and public giving more fuel to the rumors.
Earlier we have observed ‘K’, ‘S’ and ‘P’ series models from Sony Ericsson, but this is the first time we might see the ‘U’ series and going by certain theories these handsets might be touchscreen based. And if we add this with the earlier news according to which the model ‘Kurara’ which has also been referred to as U5 is ready to go for sale, we can argue that the model Samsung U5i is an American version of ‘Kurara’.
But since all these are based on rumours and conjectures we can all be proved wrong. But who knows, Sony Ericsson just might surprise us all.
