Engadget managed to get hold of a few snapshots of the beast - apparently codenamed Star - which will come with a 8-megapixel camera (with flash), a dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor (based on the Cortex A9) plus a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen.
The handset is said to come with Android OS (possibly a barebone version of Gingerbread), microSD reader, a micro USB port, a 1500mAh battery and what looks like a front facing camera and four touch sensitive buttons (home, menu, back, zoom).
The yet-to-be named phone will be significantly bigger than the iPhone 4, possibly up to 25 per cent longer based on rough calculations. The large emtpy surfaces above and below the screen means that a 5-inch version of the smartphone could be launched in the future.
Lastly, we suspect that this will be the first HD ready phone (1280x720 pixels resolution) on the market, a quasi certainty given that it can record at 1080p (full HD) resolution.
